Decked Out Publishing
B2B/B2C print and product design studio — owner-operated since 2015, combining graphic design, laser fabrication, 3D printing, and UV printing.
Owner-operated design and fabrication studio serving both business and consumer markets. The unusual part: I handle design, manufacturing, marketing, and business operations simultaneously while maintaining a full-time senior engineering role.
What We Make
Custom print products, laser-cut goods, UV-printed items, and 3D-manufactured pieces — primarily in the specialty and niche gift markets. B2B clients include local businesses needing branded materials; B2C through online channels.
Technical Stack
Design: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro for multimedia work
3D Modeling: Autodesk Fusion 360 for precision parts and product design
Fabrication: CO₂ laser cutting/engraving, FDM and resin 3D printing, UV flatbed printing,
vinyl cutting and print
Why It Matters Professionally
Running a physical-product business while engineering enterprise software is an unusual combination. It develops business judgment (P&L, customer acquisition, operations) that most engineers never get. It also means I understand clients’ real-world manufacturing and operations constraints — not just the software side.
The design background also means I can evaluate UX and visual design in software products with more than surface-level intuition.
